    Reunion Resort - Legacy Course

Innovatively routed on hilly, roller coaster-like terrain, Palmer’s 6,916 yard, par 72 Legacy Course boasts dramatic elevation changes creating a unique variety of risk/reward golf shots.

That varied menu of shot-making opportunities is further ensured by six tee locations on each hole, a variety of natural preserve areas, generously wide fairways and strategically placed bunkers across all eighteen holes.

    • Golf Digest selected The Legacy Course as #21 on their list of “America’s Top 40 New Courses 2005”
    • GolfWeek named The Legacy as #12 on their list of “Florida’s Best Public Access Courses 2006”

The course is routed over surprisingly undulating and hilly terrain. The natural flow of the land provides dramatic elevation changes and creates a number of “risk/reward” shots for the gutsy player. Much like Mr. Palmer himself, you can “go for broke” on numerous occasions.

Reunion Golf Resort features 54 holes of championship golf.  The resort features the Reunion Resort Nicklaus Golf Course, Reunion Resort Palmer Golf Course and Reunion Resort Watson Golf Course.

About Reunion Resort: In addition to the three championship golf courses, Reunion Resort features spacious accommodations, personalized concierge services, world-class dining, the Annika Golf Academy, a luxurious spa, tennis courts, 5 pools and a water park. At Ginn Reunion® Resort, taking care of our planet is every bit as important to as taking care of our members and guests. In fact, Reunion has been recognized by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program.

This is the course where Golf Hall of Fame legend, and local Orlando resident, Arnold Palmer won his first PGA Tour event. Mayfair challenges golfers with its strategic layout and the clever positioning of hazards such as greenside bunkers, water and trees. Mayfair is a great course for players of all abilities and skill levels; beginners and novice players will enjoy the shorter length, while the experienced player will be called on to use an array of skillful shots throughout the round.

Designed by Donald Ross in the early 1920′s, Mayfair features an open layout that is perfect for novice players and experts alike. The challenge for golfers at Mayfair lie within the strategic layout and the clever positioning of hazards and trees. The fairways tend to be wider (typical of older course designs) however, the approaches are much less forgiving. Water comes into play on more than half of the 18 holes.

The 18-hole “Heathrow” course at the Heathrow Country Club facility in Heathrow, Florida features 6,900 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 73.8 and it has a slope rating of 131.  Designed by Ron Garl, the Heathrow golf course opened in 1985. James Upp manages the course as the General Manager.

    Featured Holes
No. 7. Water is the key challenge on this par 4, the No. 1 handicap hole on the course. Your drive must clear the hazard, which borders the entire left of the fairway. You need length off the tee to shorten an approach shot that must also carry the hazard. Catch is, the longer your drive, the narrower the landing area becomes. The green slopes from the back toward the water in front.

No. 17. This is a nice risk/reward par 4. From an elevated tee, big hitters can attempt to drive the green with a blind tee shot over the trees. The safer play is a fairway wood to the landing area protected by water. A middle-iron approach shot then must find an elevated, two-tier green.

    Other Highlights
Heathrow has all the amenities of a full-service country club, and offers the full country club experience. With courts as far as the eye can see, tennis is a high-energy experience at Heathrow. The swimming complex includes a six-lane lap pool and lots of organized activities. A full-service fitness room has all the latest equipment.
There are weekly dining and social events for members, and a modern clubhouse with banquet space.

    Membership
Several special offers at different times of the year. Contact: Kay Maguire, membership director, for details

Set in the midst of an open meadow, the Grand Cypress Golf Resort New Course is Jack Nicklaus’ tribute and homage to the famed Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland.

The New Course at Grand Cypress adds another dimension of play to the Orlando golf scene with steeper and more challenging bunkers and slopes. This Scottish links masterpiece is complete with double greens, stone bridges and walls, gorse mounds, burns, and pot bunkers as deep as 12 feet… all in the spirit of true Scottish original.

A “links-style” design to its greatest degree, reminders of St. Andrews appear throughout the course with 150-plus bunkers, elevated tees and greens, stone walls, a winding burn (including a stone bridge crossing), and seven huge, double greens. Plus, replicas of the world-famous first and 18th holes at St. Andrews Old Course and Nicklaus’ version of the Road Hole. It’s quite a tribute to the Old Course.

Very little water comes into play on the New Course, but when it does it just may surprise you. Very few trees are located within the interior of the course, creating plenty of room to drive the ball. However, even the best of drives will be challenged, as even the slightest slice or fade can cause the best of golfers to find themselves looking in the wrong fairway for their ball. Impeccable playing conditions year-round for every caliber of golfer.

In addition to the New Course, golfers can also play the Grand Cypress Golf Club (North, South, East) Courses.  Grand Cypressfeatures 45 holes of championship golf.

Orange Lake Country Club - Reserve

Architect Mike Dasher transformed the former Resort Course, designed by Joe Lee in 1982, into this all-new, exciting golf experience. Orange Lake Resort Orlando features 36 holes of championship golf, including the Reserve Golf Course.  The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort is now an 18-hole, par 71 course winding through a myriad of water, sand and rolling greens. It was named The Reserve at Orange Lake to highlight the harmony between the perfectly manicured greens of the course and the carefully preserved surrounding wetlands, home to a variety of native plants and wildlife.

Improvements to the layout and course conditions-including new water features and bunkering-make the course even more challenging than before.  Orange Lake Resort offers two championship layouts:  The Legends Golf Course at Orange Lake Resort and The Reserve Golf Course.  In addition to the championship courses, Orange Lake Resort has the 9-hole Crane’s Bend Golf Course to satisfy golfers.

As its name suggests, the Reserve’s 18 holes and 6,505 yards of expansive greens were specifically redesigned by course architect Mike Dasher in 2005 to be in harmony with our carefully preserved wetlands to give you the taste of natural Florida.

    • Year Built: 2005
    • Greens: Mini-Verde
    • Fairways: Bermuda
    • Total Yardage: 6,505
